What do you think of this open war between Israel and Lebanon? It’s kind of scary. Israel has always held a special place in God’s plan. No matter what the outcome, Israel in one way or another will survive. I believe that those who fight against Israel are fighting against God.

Wouldn’t it be fun to have lots of money to give away like Buffet and Gates? I would fund missionaries, BIOLA and small ministries that help people in the fringes, like Emmanus. If all us little people each do our part in giving, we would together be like Buffet and Gates!

A friend told me his boss’ wife has a medical condition with little hope of recovery. She has tried to commit suicide. “She has lost hope”, the husband told my friend. What hope do any of us have, if you think about it. When we have healthy bodies, we work and we hope for more […]

I want my house to look like IKEA! The display for a 350 sqft studio apartment was amazing. There was not an inch of wasted space. We walked out of IKEA without buying a thing, but that 2-hour tour of IKEA inspired Amy and I to clean the house and organize our lives. I think […]

I was waiting for an important document to be emailed to me. I didn’t receive it. “Please send it again.” “I still didn’t get it.” I call tech support: Elliot. Elliot: “Did you check your spam folder?” And there it is! Do you check your spam folder? I don’t, but from now on I will! […]

Last Thursday marks a historical event. It is not only that Amy finished her last day of elementary school, but there will never be anyone in our family going to elementary school ever again! I’ve already written about my feelings of leaving Oswalt Elementary School. Now it is final. We went to visit all the […]

Walnut High School graduation commencement was held June 8, 2006. Even though Elliot already finished a year of college, he came back to walk with his class. I finished high school early as Elliot did, but I did not bother to go back for the commencement. I do not regret it because I didn’t have […]

We are experiencing trouble on every side, but are not crushed;we are perplexed, but not driven to despair; we are persecuted, but not abandoned; we are knocked down, but not destroyed, always carrying around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be made visible in our body. […]

Did you know today is Donut Day? My manager went to his usual donut shop to buy a dozen for the office, and they were completely sold out at 9am. He was told it was Donut Day. Some say it’s National Donut Day. The first Friday of June is this designated day of the donut. […]

I am planning a VeggieTales movie night at church to show the new VeggieTales movie “Sheerluck Holmes”. It is a lesson in friendship, so well explained with a parody of…Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson of course. The movie will be shown on Friday July 7th. Let me know if you want to come!

Weather.com registered the temperature as over 90F today in Walnut, California. It’s not even the first day of summer yet. The calendar says the official first day of summer is June 21st. Elliot and Amy went swimming in the pool. Don’t you hate that initial shock of cold water? Six or seven years ago, a […]

This was taken sometime last year when we had new windows installed. The ladder was conveniently next to the patio, and a piece of plywood was conveniently on the patio so that the workmen can stand there to install the window. So why not go up there and see life from a different perspective? I […]

I would post pictures of Audrey all dressed up for her first prom, but I don’t want to embarrass her! Her friends came to do her make-up, hair-do, finger and toe nails, and even shaped her eye brows. She got a royal treatment, and looked like a princess. The preparations were probably as much a […]

An article in the LIFE Weekend Magazine says there are signs that couples are having more than the current average of 2.09 children. The National Center for Health Statistics’ data has shown a jump in the number of births to mothers of two or more – 28% of all births in 2003, the year of […]

Amy was listening to some music on Elliot’s Ipod nano. It doesn’t have an obvious on/off button. “How do you turn it off?” Amy asked. I don’t know. We googled it and found out you hold down the pause button. Gosh, how are you suppose to know these things? I suppose you can read the […]

He Maketh No Mistake My Father’s way may twist and turn, My heart may throb and ache, But in my soul I’m glad I know He maketh no mistake. My cherished plans may go astray, My hopes may fade away, But still I’ll trust my Lord to lead, For He doth know the way. Though […]

1. Dropped Amy off at school and enjoyed a 45-minute walk with my husband. We need the exercise, and it was a nice time to talk. 2. Researched properties for clients. There is more inventory of homes on the market now. It’s becoming a bit more of a buyer’s market. 3. Picked up Amy from […]

In Bible Study today, we were studying Genesis 49-50 about how Jacob and Joseph both made preparations for their deaths by leaving instructions to have heir bones taken to Canaan. The discussion question was: How prepared are you to die? While that question may make us think whether or not we’ve made preparations for our […]

From Gary Bauer of American Values: Have you seen the recent studies that try to quantify the value of motherhood? It seems financial analysts are attempting to calculate the “market value” of a mother’s worth in today’s economy. One study added up the value of 17 key occupations that mothers typically perform, including Executive Chef, […]

My parents live in Morehead and one of my sisters, who lives in West Liberty, is married to a transvestite. My father and mother have recently been arrested for growing and selling marijuana. […]
