Last Thursday marks a historical event.

It is not only that Amy finished her last day of elementary school, but there will never be anyone in our family going to elementary school ever again!

I’ve already written about my feelings of leaving Oswalt Elementary School. Now it is final.

We went to visit all the teachers that we’ve known over the years, and gave them a little present to remember us by.

Mrs. Hernandez – if you happen to read this, we missed you since we heard you had to leave school early. We’ll hold on to your present until we see you, maybe when the new school year starts.

It’s nice to have the feeling of familiarity at Oswalt Elementary. We know where everything is, we know the teachers. The office staff knows me so I don’t have to sign in when I go onto the campus.

I thought that Amy would have hesitations of going on to middle school next year. She surprised me by her enthusiasm for the next school year. “Yes, I am ready,” she said. “I am excited about it.”

Amy inspired me to embrace changes in life. Familiarity is good; new experiences are good too.

    Hi Katy and Amy!
I am sorry I missed you in June. My mom had a stroke that week and went to be with the Lord on June 24th. (I am now an orphan) I miss her tremendously. We had a lot of great times traveling, shopping, and just talking. Mother-daughter relationships are special. On the upside, I was blessed with a new granddaughter, Anabella, on September 10 (day after my birthday). She brings me great joy and is helping me through this year. She is the youngest of 4. My grandson, Jacob, started kindergarten and has his first T-ball game this weekend. So… God is blessing me through a new season in my life.
I would love to hear how Amy is doing in Middle School, though I am confident she has it mastered. If this info is in another blog you can give me the date. I found this almost on accident tonight. Or so it seemed… maybe it was divine intervention.
I would love to hear from you or welcome your visit. No gift required. LOL 🙂
