It’s not the usual type of book that I like to read.

I usually don’t read fantasy. But Elliot recommended Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card. Ender’s Game was not available at the library, so I picked up Treasure Box by the same author.

It started out as a rather intriguing mystery. The set up in the first 1/3 of the book seemed to be heading in the direction of how a smart computer geek would outsmart the devil. That would’ve impressed me.

But it was not that kind of book. Yes, there was mystery and suspense, but more fantasy and the “alien abduction” type of genre.

Fortunately, I did not completely waste my time with this book because Card’s writing is engaging, fun to read, and it did capture my attention.

And I like books with good endings.
