If you were going to only stay for 3 innings of a game, the game on Saturday between the Angels and the Rangers would be the best game to go to.

Amy won a drawing contest that gave our family free entrance to that game. We are not baseball fans, so we decided we would just stay for a few innings and go out to dinner.

I forewarned the kids that baseball is a real slow game, nothing much happens, but people love to attend because it gives them plenty of time to snack and drink beer. We can just enjoy the nice weather.

Lo and behold, was I wrong! There was more action in the first 3 innings than some entire games I’ve seen!

The first 3 batters all got on base. At the end of the top of the first, the Texas Rangers scored 3 runs!!

By the time we left at the end of the 4th inning, the Angels came back 5-4! You can see how much of a game it must’ve been in only 4 innings.

There was more good stuff: Amy’s prize for winning the contest also earned us reserved parking. We were parked in the second row next to the Gate. I would never pay extra to park that close for a game.  🙂
The best part for Amy was getting to go through the back way and onto the field with the other children who also won. They were recognized before the audience. That was very special.
