I haven’t had time to gather my thoughts on the many good things that has gone on since my last post. I will just describe them briefly here:

3/11 Went to California Adventures with my husband and 3 children. It was a GREAT time. We have so much fun together. If I can choose whatever I want to do in the world, I’d spend all my time with these 4 beautiful people. California Adventures was just an added bonus. Weather.com said 90% chance of rain that day. Were they ever off! There was 30 minutes of rain, the rest of the day was bright, but cool. We were dressed to the hilt for cold weather, so we felt great. The lines were short, the attractions were just enough for us. My sister-in-law said the new Monsters, Inc ride is an attraction for younger kids, but we all loved it just the same.

3/15 I had lunch with my friend Chanlee at Souplantation. I don’t get out much, so I really enjoyed good food, and nice time of sharing with a friend. The muffins were just right, crunchy-chewy on the outside, soft and moist on the inside. The pasta was just out of the pan, steaming and creamy. I don’t love soups, but no one can turn down a bowl of clam chowder.

3/15 While I was having lunch with my friend, Elliot went to have lunch with my dad. Since Elliot dorms at school and have no need for a car there, he doesn’t have much opportunity to drive. Since he is home this week for Spring break, he drove places by himself. I am so used to being a mom who shuttles the children everywhere that it is kind of nice that he doesn’t need me. Otherwise I wouldn’t drive him all the way to Pasadena to see his grandfather.
3/16 After cancelling my hair appointment once, and almost again, I decided to just squeeze in the time to do it. Sylvia is fantastic. She gave me a cut and body perm all within 1 1/2 hours. My hair looked great the first day. Well, after I washed it, it is not much different then how it was. I did not spend time blow-drying and styling it, but I did get some compliments.

3/16 6:00PM. Chocolate, Audrey’s dog, had to go to the vet, again! He apparently got some kind of insect bite on his paw. He had been licking it, and it looked swollen. The visit set us back $108. Even the vet said he was an expensive dog, after hearing about the back surgery that he went through. Now he is on antibiotics.

3/17 Elliot went to Disneyland with his friends from school. Again, he was able to drive himself there. I do worry a bit, but you just can’t worry about everything. And Elliot is a careful driver. I told him the little Tercel offers very little protection in an accident, so don’t get into one.

3/18 Mike and I drove Elliot back to USC – Spring break just flew by. On the way back, we picked up my dad, aunt and mother-in-law from First Chinese Baptist Church in Chinatown. They were there for a program featuring a fairly famous Chinese actress who gave her Christian testimony. It would’ve been perfect to have dinner wth them afterwards, but Amy was home sick with the flu, so we dropped off my dad and aunt at their respective homes, and came home for dinner.

3/19 Audrey: Can I drive to the mall? Me: What do you want to buy? Audrey: I just want to drive! OK, I braced myself! She did great, but I was still nervous. We got to the mall at 6:00PM, and the stores were just closing – Sunday hours are short. We enjoyed dinner at Coco’s (with a coupon), and had lots of time and privacy to talk. I tell you, I cannot thank God enough for the way my children are turning out. Audrey has such good sense, strong moral convictions, and depth of spiritual understanding. I honestly cannot ask for more. May God continue His work in her life.
